Mission

We are looking for a professional with strong interest in or ideally an academic or professional background in the following areas: mechanical/ electromechanical/ automotive/ electrical design engineering; automotive and HVAC&R industry. Most importantly, the person joining our team would have acquired prior solid knowledge about the systematic identification of grants and funding sources at the United Nations (UNEP, UNIDO, World Bank etc.), EU and national level. He/she would be familiar with managing the whole application, management and administration process related to the conduct of funded projects, and would be the first point of contact for all involved partners.

Reporting to the Head of Market Research, the Project Officer will be responsible for identifying relevant project activities, research programmes and other business opportunities available at the UN, European or national level. Focus areas for his/her activities will be both the fields of electric mobility / sustainable transport, as well as sustainable heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration technology, district heating, renewable energies, energy efficiency etc.

He/she will undertake daily monitoring of industry and policy developments to report about sources of funding available to the benefit of shecco and its customers. The ideal candidate will take the lead on advising and supporting shecco’s partners and customers in developing high-quality grant applications for (research) funding projects and provide constant support during the duration of successful projects, taking into account both scientific/technical and commercial considerations. For this purpose, he/she will be required to communicate with market players and customers, develop a strong network of funding contacts and keep close contact with relevant sources of information, including the research community. The maintenance of databases, filing systems and other records, as well as other administrative tasks (calculation of budgets, coordination of project activities) associated with the post will be required. The participation at relevant policy, industry and research events will be part of his/her activities.

He/she will also assist with advise in shecco’s other business activities, including market research projects, public affairs activities and its B2B online platforms.

Requirements
  • Min 3 year of proven experience in the identification, application process and the conduct of projects under EU funding schemes (FP7, Leonardo, Interreg, LIFE+, Intelligent Energy Europe or equivalent), or other relevant experience in EU affairs
  • Proven experience with the assessment and conduct of UN / national grant support schemes, a plus
  • Experience in project management: budgeting, administration and organisation related to funded projects for shecco and its customers
  • Background in research / engineering or other relevant professional experience in the automotive / HVAC&R and/or environmental technologies sector, a strong plus
  • Experience in environmental policy, a strong plus
  • Knowledge of MS Office, presentation techniques and data processing
  • Excellent command of business / scientific English, both oral and written
  • Other EU languages, a plus
